We are departing Naxos and all looks ok until we are out from the dock. The anchors have crossed and we are lifting someones anchor. Aeneas is a great boat but with 2 rudders there is no normal propwalk. Thus to gain steering we need to throttle much more than a normal boat. Being caught in an anchor line effectively i cant throttle and turn without undoing the other anchor. Thus the only course of action at the helm is. keep the boat close to anchor. Try helm over in a direction when i must throttle hard but with a very short burst just to keep distance and trust that Aeneas will somehow move in the direction i want. Interestingly enough we had Jan a crew who left the boat 24 hours earlier sitting at a cafe in the marina also filming. We have a great combined video from the boat and from land with the sound from the boat the whole time. Anyone have any better ideas on how to get free in this situation let us know.
