RM1180 Caribbean Dandy

It was a very lively boat with two smaller keels and one rudder. We sailed at good speeds reaching 13.5 knots though with the swells and winds we had we had to reef down as it was almost impossible to control the boat. While lively and fun to sail I dont necessarily like the small helms and the instrument is so low and close i spent a lot time looking down at the wind instrument to be able to control the boat. The small keels also made mooring in marinas more complicated as it was very easy to lose control at slow speed

In the video you can see the speed even more when the cameras are facing the backwater 🙂 The deck has a non skid surface however as the boat was one year old and used a lot the grip was non existent in some places. you can see the patches next to the helm. The sky is very yellowish in this video and that is as we had the tropical winds from Sahara adding rain mixed with sand onto our deck.
